Made the steering cable pulley brackets from the kit provided 2x2x1/8" angle. Since I don't have a band saw at home, I used a hand grinder with a thin cutoff wheel to trim the 2x2 aluminum stock. It only takes about 10 light passes of the wheel to make a clean straight cut. I think there is less edge rework required this way than when I've made cuts on a bandsaw.
Smoothed all edges, drilled mounting pilot holes, pulley hole and cable retainer cotter pin hole. Used self-etch primer on the brackets. I'm short on 1/4" castle nuts, so I need to order some of those.
